Google Pixel 4a release date for India is October 17

Image
Yesterday, Google announced the Google Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 smartphones in the U.S. India which is one of the major smartphone markets will not be receiving the two smartphones. 5G networks have not started in India and this could be the reason why Google will not be bringing the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5 in the country. A fresh tweet from Google reveals that the Pixel 4a that was announced in August will hit the Indian markets on Oct. 17. The official post on the Google India blog that was published after the launch of the Google Pixel 4a last month had stated that it will be releasing in India in August through Flipkart. The pricing of the device for India is yet to be confirmed. Soon after the announcement of the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5, Google responded to a Twitter user that the Pixel 4a will be releasing in India on Oct. 17. New camera features coming to the Google Pixel 5

Image
Google’s Pixel 5 doesn’t bring any major changes the to the camera hardware. The 2X telephoto camera from the Pixel 4 has been replaced with a new 16MP ultra wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and 1µn pixels. Meanwhile, the main camera remains unchanged from the Pixel 4. It’s a 12.2MP 1/2.55” sensor with f/1.7 aperture, Dual Pixel AF, and OIS. We don’t yet know how much the image quality can improved solely based on software advancements as we don’t yet have the device. Until then, let’s go over the camera features that are debuting with the Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G (they have identical camera setups). Google touted HDR+ with exposure bracketing, which Google promises will deliver “clearer, sharper photos”. However, we know that Google has been “exposure bracketing” since the original Pixel. We can only expect incremental improvements on this front. Here’s something significant: you can now shoot portrait photos with Night Sight. Currently, there aren’t many smartphones that

Image
Xiaomi , Wednesday, held an event where it officially announced the Mi 10T series comprising the Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro and then the Snapdragon 750G-powered Mi 10T Lite. The company, during the event, equally announced the Mi Watch and its popular 65W GaN charger. Both products have previously been launched in Xiaomi’s home market – China. The Mi Watch is no doubt one of the popular wearables the company has released this year. It runs proprietary software and is not a Wear OS watch. This is believed to help in battery life longevity. The Mi Watch features a circular AMOLED display which has a diameter of 1.39 inches and a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. The display has a peak brightness of 450 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It also has a 5ATM water resistance rating which means it can be taken for a swim in a pool.

US Justice Department reportedly planning to sue Google over search ads

Image
A report by Reuters says the U.S. Justice Department is expected to sue Alphabet’s Google as soon as next week. The DOJ is reportedly currently urging state attorneys general to sign onto the lawsuit, according to three sources familiar with the process. The lawsuit is expected to accuse Google, builder of the world’s dominant search engine, of looking to disadvantage rivals such as Microsoft’s Bing by depriving them of the data about users and user preferences that they need to improve and to advertise to people. The Justice Department has also been investigating Google’s “search advertising,” the ads that appear under a search box if a person looks up a consumer item like “dishwasher.” Google controls the sale of the space under these searches, as well as the tools to make those ad sales. Google has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. The Justice Department declined to comment. Regarding search, Google has said users have access to other information sources, like Twitter for news

Google TV is the Android TV skin for the new Google Chromecast

Image
With the announcement of Google’s new Chromecast device today, “Google TV” is debuting with the new hardware. “Google TV” was Google’s first smart TV platform that was co-developed with Sony, Qualcomm, Google, and Logitech that first launched back in 2010. It was an OS for TVs that offered support for streaming apps, and as a core TV operating system. The platform would eventually be succeeded by “Android TV” until this day. The new Google TV is still based on Android TV, but it’s a UI skin that’s unique to the new Google Chromecast for now, though Google did say that it would be adding the Google TV experience to more devices in the Android TV ecosystem. The “For You” page will recommend shows and TVs across streaming services as well. It integrates with Google Assistant so you can add shows and movies to a Watchlist that syncs to your TV interface – so you can search for content on a smartphone or computer with Google and add it to your Watchlist so it’ll be waiting for you at ho

Google might produce as little as 800,000 Pixel 5 units in 2020 as it trims sales target: Report

Image
Google introduced its high-end Pixel 5 smartphone earlier today, alongside the more affordable Pixel 4a 5G . On the surface, the two phones look promising and the general consensus from the tech community is that the lower asking price of Google’s new smartphones might attract more consumers towards the Pixel family. However, it appears that Google has set a rather modest target when it comes to the sale of Pixel 5 in 2020. As per a Nikkei Asia report that cites sources privy to the matter, Google plans to produce only 1 million units of the Pixel 5 this year , thanks in no part to a lower sales target. However, the number of Pixel 5 units produced this year could fall as low as 800,000 units depending on the reception it gets. Google has trimmed down its sales estimates due to the cumulative effect of two factors – the coronavirus pandemic slowing down the global smartphone market and Google failing to meet the sales target of its Pixel smartphones last year. Google sold 7.2 mil

New leak could confirm the battery capacity in the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Image
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra may be a long way from its official presentation, but it seems that we may already have confirmation of some of its internals. A new rumor could confirm a previous leak that mentioned the battery size in the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which may be just as large as the battery found in its predecessor. A new leak has surfaced, mentioning the battery size of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Once again, the leak comes from a very credible source, as the information was taken from an early product certificate. The documentation coming from Chinese telecom authority 3C mentions the battery of the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which is supposed to carry model number EB-BG998ABY which could easily be used as a reference to the SM-998 model that is the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The non-removable battery is rated with a capacity of 4,885mAh, which usually ends up being announced as a total 5,000 mAh battery, which would match the previous leaks that surfaced in mid-September. Microsoft Surface Laptop ‘Go’ specs leaked ahead of rumored October 1 launch

The machine will draw power from the previous-gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 Ice Lake processor. Now, this is the same silicon that was spotted running inside an unannounced Microsoft hardware a few days ago. The Intel chipset will be paired with a paltry
